All cancellations must be made by emailing or calling +64(0)211750832.

Cancellations made

  • Up to 24 hours prior to tour -full refund minus administration charges (see 'REFUNDS TO CREDIT CARDS')

  • Within 24 hours prior to tour -no refund. Exception made for cruise ships unable to dock.

refunds to credit cards

Refunds will be charged an administration fee of $20 or 5% of the full paid amount, whichever is greater. This charge is levied by the credit card companies against Offtrack Tours Limited, we do not profit from refunds in any way. 

Postponing a tour 

In the event you wish to change the time and/or date or your tour, please contact us by email or phone no later than 24 hours prior to the tour departure time.


Always assume that tour is running unless we contact you.

Tours will not be cancelled due to cold weather or rain. Only in extreme weather conditions will a tour be cancelled.

If you decide not to attend the tour on account of weather, this will be considered a no-show and not eligible for a refund. You can choose to postpone the tour to a later date (see 'POSTPONING A TOUR'

Ship Cancellation/ unable to dock

If your ship cannot berth at Port Chalmers, there is a full refund minus administration charges (see 'REFUNDS TO CREDIT CARDS')

If your ship is delayed or postponed, we will wait for you at the port until you arrive.

release and waiver of liability

By accepting your booking and in consideration of you being permitted by Offtrack Tours Ltd to join a tour, you:
• release, waive, discharge, hold harmless and agree to indemnify Offtrack Tours Ltd and its officers, employees, agents, licensees, guides and other representatives and the land management authorities in New Zealand from all claims, actions or losses for bodily injury, property damage, wrongful death, loss of services, loss of profits, consequential, exemplary, indirect or punitive damages or otherwise which may arise out of or occur during your travel in connection with the tour or any activities conducted in conjunction there within unless caused by the willful negligence or wrongful act of Offtrack Tours Ltd. This is subject to any rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantee Act 1993 if booking in NZ.
WARNING: Under New Zealand law it is extremely unlikely that you will be able to sue anyone if you are injured and/or suffer disruption in your travel arrangements. Offtrack Tours Ltd holds a current public liability insurance policy covering all tours operated by Offtrack Tours Ltd
