The Dunstan Trail

The Dunstan Trail follows the path of the early settlers. This tour loosely follows the Dunstan Trail, a track used by settlers and miners in the 1860’s to access the growing gold economy of Central Otago. This tour is characterized by typical NZ high country scenery, tussock, spinifex and the stunning central Otago rock tors. Each unique, these tors have been sculptured over thousands of years by wind, rain and ice.
We stay at a high country station, eat locally produced food and access private tracks for views reserved only for the locals. This ride also offers some challenging riding which is rewarded with stunning views and backcountry history. Unique in New Zealand.
